🏰Glamis Castle MTB Endurance – 5 Hours of Grit, Strategy & Stunning Trails🏰

Saturday 18th April 2026 - ENTRIES WILL BE OPEN SOON

Set against the historic backdrop of Glamis Castle, this brand‑new MTB endurance event invites riders to test their stamina, strategy and resilience in one of Scotland’s most memorable riding locations.

Whether you’re a seasoned endurance rider, or simply someone who thrives on a personal challenge, this inaugural event offers the perfect opportunity to try something different. Designed to be competitive yet welcoming, it’s an event that rewards smart riding just as much as physical strength.

At its heart, the challenge is simple. Riders have five hours to complete as many laps as possible. There’s no fixed distance, no pressure to hit a particular number. How far you go is entirely up to you.

Riding Solo or as a Pair

The event is open to solo riders as well as pairs, riding in a relay format. For those entering as a pair, only one rider will be on the course at any time, with changeovers allowed as often as you like. This makes it ideal for riders who want to share the challenge, ride tactically, or experience endurance riding together for the first time.

Solo riders, meanwhile, can settle into their own pace and push themselves as far as they’re able, whether that means chasing a podium or simply seeing how many laps they can complete before the clock runs out.

The Course

The course winds its way in and around the grounds of Glamis Castle, offering a varied and engaging mix of terrain. Each lap is approximately six miles long, with around 400 feet of elevation gain, combining sections of flowing singletrack, uphill sections, and fast grassy paths. The result is a circuit that keeps riders engaged lap after lap, rewarding smooth handling and efficient riding.

Categories and Competition

Categories will be confirmed once entries close, allowing organisers to ensure fair and meaningful competition. Categories are expected to include Student, Female, and Open classifications, available for both Solo riders and Pairs, subject to sufficient entries.

While there will be plenty of competitive spirit on the day, the atmosphere is designed to remain friendly and supportive, making it an ideal entry point for riders new to endurance events as well as a satisfying challenge for experienced competitors.

Event HQ and Facilities

The start, finish and pits area will be based directly at Glamis Castle, creating a central race hub for riders and supporters alike. On‑site facilities include toilets and a café serving hot and cold food, making it easy to refuel, recover and enjoy the day whether you’re taking part or spectating.

Key Details

The event is open to riders aged 18 and over on the day of the race. Entries are limited to 50 in total, across any combination of solo riders and pairs, helping to maintain course quality and a positive race experience for everyone.

A Challenge Worth Taking On

This event has been designed for riders who want to test themselves, try an endurance event for the first time, or enjoy a unique challenge in an unforgettable setting. Whether your goal is to ride hard, ride steady, or simply see what you’re capable of over five hours, Glamis Castle MTB Endurance promises a rewarding and memorable day on the bike.

With limited entries available, early booking is strongly recommended.
